I was mucking around with Audacity, listening to songs in reverse. For the fun of it, I put on everyone’s favorite song, Blurred Lines. And shockingly, I heard something I had never expected to hear. Robin Thicke was fooling us this whole time. He wasn’t trying to be misogynistic, he wanted us to listen closer to the song and understand that he in fact does believe his lady partner needs to be treated with the utmost respect.
You might find it VERY hard to believe, but I implore you to listen very closely (with headphones if you can, because it can be hard to hear). The message I’m talking about comes in around the 30 second mark.
After the 30sec mark I just kind of stared at my wall for the rest of the song trying to accept what I just heard.
Bringing this back because…you know
My education book is keepin it real
Ellen Degeneres is the greatest because she doesn’t insult anyone but she doesn’t tiptoe around anything either and she includes everyone and she makes people feel good about themselves while poking fun at them and this is the kind of comedy that should be embraced at award shows not misogynistic songs about breasts
MONKEYS in the ARCTIC?! whats next, vampires on the weekend?!
Im proud to be a woman!
Im proud to be a man!
Im proud to be black! Black pride!
Im proud to be white! White pride!
I’m proud to be LBGT! Gay pride!
Im proud to be straight! Straight pride!
Why is one ok to say but the other isn’t…?
Why does Tumblr frown upon saying ‘f*ggot’ but think it’s ok to say cis scum or cracker?
And please no one get mad at me for posting this. I just want to be educated on why some Tumblr users are so hypocritical.
It’s because straight/white people and men don’t need pride or positive attention. They are the social norm and are usually allowed to act how they want, it’s normal to see a straight couple holding hands or kissing in public but seeing two guys or girls hold hands is often something people stare at. Men are allowed to be as many as they want or go into any career they want (as long as they or their job isn’t considered feminine cause being a girl means you’re weak). White people have more power (at least in the US) my US history book had maybe two chapters of black history and the rest is mostly about white people. Black history only gets a month where white history is taught literally every year again and again. Minorities need pride because the world is not already in their favor.
